This is a busy place. Right off the highway so it's very easy to find. It's a convenience store meets down home diner. We stopped for the hot fresh fried cracklins. They were drenched in a mildly spicy Cajun seasoning and fresh out the grease. We decided to get 1 lb. Imagine our surprise when they said $18 (really it turned to be $19.18). Now that's highway robbery. Literally. The cracklins were quite tasty and decadent... but $18.99/lb. Come on folks. We paid it because of the experience but I was not happy. Otherwise, I would have given them 5 stars.
Some of the best boudin in Louisiana. Small grocery store that's rustic...nothing fancy. Not much room for a big truck to park. If you like Cajun food, you'll LOVE this flavorful place.
Great country store. We love to stop every time we travel between Baton Rouge and Alexandra. I love the boundin, and we always stock up on sausage and other meat choices. Friendly employees, good drink selection.
Everyone is happy to see ya when you come in. Everything they make is Awesome. The cracklings are the the BEST! Be sure to stop by and get ya 2 pounds or so!
Only gave it 3 stars because they need more vegetarian options. Rice and cheese balls. Stuffed mushrooms with Cajun rice, ect.
